I’m Jecs Davies, a multimedia journalist with experience across print, digital, radio, TV, podcasting, and social media. I hold a First-Class BA (Hons) in Multimedia Journalism from Bournemouth University, with BJTC accreditation, and am currently completing my NCTJ diploma.
Throughout my work, I have reported on everything from general election counts and royal visits to celebrity interviews and community stories. I’ve also appeared as a guest on BBC Radio Solent to discuss Bournemouth University’s coverage of the US Election, and on BBC South Today in a special programme exploring issues affecting Generation Z.
As a journalist at Dorset View, I source and produce original stories for the magazine and website, as well as creating social media video content across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, and co-hosting our podcast. Previously, as Deputy Station Manager at Nerve Radio, I trained and supported presenters, organised interviews and events, and led the successful introduction of regular news bulletins.
I thrive on breaking stories, working live under pressure, and shaping journalism that both informs and connects with audiences. My work has been recognised with multiple awards, including Level 6 News Student of the Year (2025), Best News Broadcaster finalist (2023 & 2024) in the International Student Broadcasting Championships, and a Community Radio Award Silver for our national election coverage.
My biggest priority is telling people-centred stories that give a voice to communities, champion diversity, and spark meaningful conversations.
"It was great to have Jecs film the UK's first ever Foxstrut. Jecs was on time, friendly and great to work with, which is really important at community events like this. She was able to turn around video clips on a short time scale and was excellent with communication."

"I want to specifically thank Jecs who is an amazing interviewer. It was so easy to talk to her as she made me feel relaxed. Her questions were great prompts and helped put the dialogue in the right direction. Jecs has a very promising career ahead of her."
